This little guy was hanging out at the bird feeder by the nature center's lodge. He is either a "Hairy Woodpecker" or a "Downy Woodpecker". Apparently, Alaska has two different species of woodpeckers that look exactly alike except for size. I suspect this one is the Hairy Woodpecker, which is the larger of the two.
William took this one of Eli and I starting off on the trail.
