Easter Egg Hunting ~ 2014

 

 The Easter Bunny came a day early this year so that both sets of grandparents could be there.  The boys were a little skeptical about that since we have always done it on Easter morning!  They had fun though!  It has been a few years since we have been able to hide eggs outside!

Strawberry Picking!

Drove a little ways up the highway to go strawberry picking.  Loved this place because the strawberries were grown vertically and we didn't have to get down on the ground to pick them!  We ended up bringing home about 11 pounds of strawberries!

 

The owner's son showed us these baby birds who had a nest among the strawberries.  They hatched that morning!  He told us they had looked the day before and none of the eggs had hatched yet.

Bluebonnets!

It's bluebonnet season in Texas!  We have never been in town at just the right time to take pictures of the kids in the bluebonnets before.  It was a challenge though!  I think I need two assistants next time!  One to get everyone to smile and look the right way and one to hold a reflector.

This game can be hilarious!  Especially with a three year old who has trouble keeping secrets!

 

Reindeer Baby!

They are only little for such a short time!  You have to get all the cute pictures you can before they get old enough to protest!

 

I tried to get pictures of all of the boys, but they ALL turned out looking like hilarious outtakes!

 

Last Sledding Adventure in Alaska

We are preparing to leave Alaska.  I have loved all of the amazing adventures and activities we have been able to experience here!  I am a little sad to leave it and leave a couple of families who have been amazing friends to us (even before we got to Alaska!  We were so blessed that their assignments from the Air Force brought them to the same base as us again!).  On this day all of our stuff was packed up and taken away by the movers, but we ventured out to the sledding hill at the elementary school for one more day of sledding.

 

So glad Nate could come out and sled with us!  Can't believe we have known this great kid since he was two years old!

Halloween ~ 2013

My three ninjas!  We had a rare warm Halloween in Anchorage.  The boys loved it!  They stayed out much longer than they did in the last two years and got way more candy as a result!

 

 Their pumpkins!  Ben's is the far left (from a pattern). Will's is the middle (designed and carved out all on his own).  Eli's on the far right.

First Day of 1st Grade

Ben's first day of first grade!  His teacher this year is Ms. Kaltenborn.  She is very sweet and we think she will be a great teacher!
