I saw this project on Pinterest, but didn't have much interest in doing it. Then one day James came home talking about seeing this same thing somewhere and how much the kids would love it. He was right. They really had fun! The basic concept is to fill balloons with food coloring and water. Then freeze the balloons and tear off the balloon parts. What you end up with is something like giant frozen marbles.
We got snow the next day and learned that you need to dig the balloons out or else they won't freeze. The snow ends up insulating them.
End result. Looked pretty cool with a string of lights!
