Project 52 - Week 33

Week 33 ~ August 14-20

We made it back to Alaska this week. It was fun seeing family, but we were ready to be home again. Luckily my parents came back with us for a week. We decided to check out the Alaska Wild Berry Park. It is a small attraction attached to the main store and factory for Alaska Wild Berry Products. They make jams, jellies, and chocolates (filled with berries) from berries grown in Alaska.

Here is their chocolate fall inside the store/factory.

They wanted me to take a picture that made it look like they were picking it up.

Grandpa had to help pick them up. They weren't tall enough to peek over!

After looking around we ate next door at the Sourdough Mining Company. Eli LOVED the corn on the cobb!

Project 52 - Week 32

Week 32 ~ August 7-13

We took the boys to play in the rapids at the Guadalupe River. We had the perfect shady little spot and everyone had a great time! Even little Eli tried floating when I helped him walk into a slightly deeper area. He just picked up his little feet and held onto my arms. William did the rapids all by himself with no floaty stuff and Ben wore his life jacket.

Ben going down.

William's turn. Papa waited at the end to catch the boys.

Pool Time!

I'm still behind on the blog, but it is nice to remember our vacation and the WARM weather. It was 26 degrees when we left the house this morning! Yesterday we saw snow in Eagle River too! None at our house yet, but we are a a bit lower elevation. Any day now!

This is from the time we spent in San Antonio over the summer. One of our favorite activities in San Antonio is of course swimming. William is part fish and Ben is getting there. This summer was really Eli's first time in the pool. He was too little last year. He really liked it, but preferred for me to be in the pool with him.

Hanging out with Papa in the water. We pulled the table over so its umbrella could make some shade in the pool.

Ben with his life jacket. He loved being able move around on his own.

William swimming under the water.

Making Eli his own little pool in the big pool.

Project 52 - Week 31

Week 31 ~ July 31- August 6

Another fun outing while we were San Antonio! This time we went with my parents to the Witte Museum. They have the amazing HEB Science Treehouse (One of many, many reasons I love HEB!)

Helping baby brother see.

He was a really good climber!

Grandpa tried it out too! He even made it to the top!

Lucy's Arrival

We were so excited that we could plan our trip to San Antonio to coincide with the arrival our new niece/cousin! Her birth may have been a bit nerve wracking, but she finally arrived and is perfectly healthy.

Little Lucy was born at Wilford Hall Medical Center, which is where William also made his big entrance into the world.

Man of the hour comes to the rescue with more pain meds!

Last picture as a family of two!

Precious little Lucy! Her mommy and I had fun taking pictures of her a few days later.

This last one is my favorite!

10 on the 10th - October

1. Today is my mom's birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!

2. We don't have any snow yet. Yay! It is coming soon though.

3. James is still in Oklahoma City doing his upgrade training. No idea when he will be back, but I'm hoping it will be before Halloween. He seems to miss Halloween almost every year.

4. Eli is in the middle of transitioning from two naps a day to one nap a day. I hate these inbetween stages! It is really hard for him to get one good long nap in when we have to pick up Ben from school at noon and then William at 3:30.

5. The bays had decided to be a zoo keeper (William) and two zoo animals (a lion for Ben and a giraffe for Eli), but then Ben changed his mind and wanted to be a skeleton. I love when their costumes are themed. Sigh. Maybe I can convince Ben to change back.

6. I flipped the mattress in our room over today. I always forget to do that. Yay me!

7. Anyone else ever watch certain commercials and wonder how in the world they pitched that one (and how it got approved!)? At least these days I hardly ever watch commercials. I DVR everything and skip right past the commercials.

8. I need James to come home. I can't get to bed on time when he is gone. Someone tell me why I stay up so late when it is just me!!

9. I am obsessed with pumpkin recipes right now! So far I have made pimpkin chocolate chip muffins, pumpkin pancakes, and pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies.

10. William just blows me away with how smart he is sometimes. Saturday we had a converstation about multiplication and division. (and he totally gets both concepts)

Project 52 - Week 30

Week 30 ~ July 24-30

We were still in San Antonio this week, so we took the kids to feed ducks in Boerne, TX.

Sometimes more bread gets eaten by the humans than by the ducks.

For Baby Lucy

While we were in San Antonio, my mother-in-law and I got to throw a baby shower for my sister-in-law, Val. Our theme was "Cupcakes and Tea for the Mommy-to-be." It turned out great! We were worried about little Lucy making her arrival before the shower date, but as it turned out she decided to wait until after her due date to make her debut.
